"Why is my iPhone alarm so quiet?" is a question that seems to be gaining traction on Google.

At the end — or, in this case, the beginning — of the day, we really only need our phones to do one thing. For many iPhone users, that didn't happen this week.

First reported by Today on NBC, folks around social media noticed this week that their iPhone alarms were were too quiet or not playing at all. I can say personally that mine didn't go off on Thursday morning.

According to The Guardian, Apple has acknowledged the issue and promised it is working on a fix, though no information was given regarding a timeline.

This issue is affecting too many users to be a simple case of user error. However, there are device settings you can check to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

Open the iPhone's Settings app, find "Sound & Haptics," then make sure the volume is up under "Ringtone and Alert Volume." That may not fix the problem, necessarily, but it can at least give you peace of mind that it isn't your fault.

Hopefully Apple fixes this before next Monday. Alternatively, every office could just cancel its early Monday morning meetings.
